Do You Hate Jesus?

Revival & Reformation

Miedo-ajeno(James Smith)

“They hated Me without a cause.” John 15:25

“They kept shouting: Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” Luke 23:21

It is a solemn thought, that many sinners who hear the gospel, hate Jesus. Hate Jesus! Yes, though He is . . .
infinitely wise,
exquisitely beautiful,
perfect in holiness,
unparalleled in goodness,
almighty in power, and
the very personification of love!

Jesus, who is represented by . . .
the gentle lamb,
the fructifying dew,
the safe refuge,
the fragrant rose,
the desire of all nations,
and the altogether lovely one!

Jesus, who . . .
left Heaven and its glories,
came and labored on earth,
suffered unparalleled indignities and pains,
died for sinners on the accursed tree, and
now pleads in Heaven for all who seek salvation by Him.

Jesus, who is both able and willing to pardon all their sins, to lift them up to…

“For the word of God is…”

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Brains God Gave You

Amen and Amen!!!!

Into the Foolishness of God

My oldest son recently became a teenager and I attended a meeting for youth group parents at my church. The leaders said they’d be tackling a myriad of topics this year, ranging from respecting one’s parents to unpacking the transgender phenomenon permeating our local high schools. A parent asked, “What curriculum are you using?” The leader responded, “The Bible.” We need more of this, please and thank you.

A really insightful article today at Uncomfortable Grace discussing our need to use the brains God have us when discerning who and what we pledge our allegiance to. In this age of opinions and outrage, we must be careful to not set our minds to autopilot when it comes to deciding where we plant our own flag.

The author cites the fact that people she once trusted have of late, veered from the path of Biblical…

Mega Million’s $1.6 Billion Jackpot

Yep! Amen! I totally agree!!! Another great spirit filled post from Tom 😁

In case you haven’t heard the news around the water cooler the past couple of days, the jackpot for the Mega Million Lottery has risen to a record $1.6 billion and the drawing is tonight.

Despite the daunting 1-in-302-million odds of winning, people will be queueing up at their favorite lottery outlet today to buy a ticket. Afterwards, they’ll be kibitzing enthusiastically with their friends, family, co-workers, and even total strangers about all of the things they are going to do and buy with that $1.6 billion (actually only $904 million after Uncle Sam takes his share).

I have a few thoughts:

  • Jesus Christ offers eternal life and fellowship with God to all those who repent of their sin and accept Him as their Savior by faith alone. There’s no comparison to eternal life in Christ and $904 million dollars. So why do people line up for a microscopic chance…

11 Scriptures to Combat Anxiety

Thanks to Wally over at Truth In Palmyra for reblogging this on his blog! EXCELLENT!

Elihu's Corner

A little over a week ago, I posted a query to the Elihu’s Corner Facebook Page: “What are you Reading?” The responses were excellent! I believe daily bible reading to be a vital part of our Christian walk, so it’s of great value to hear different strategies people use to remain consistent.

A couple of readers commented that they use “Scripture writing.” I wondered if there was a site or book they used to determine what they’d write. Apparently there are many websites that post scripture writing lists for each month.

There is such great value in writing and memorizing scripture. When we write out a scripture, we consider each word as we copy. Because it slows us down, we gain a sharper focus on what the text conveys. My middle daughter saw me checking into various plans, and said, “Oooh! Can we do this together?” (Who would say…

You think things are bad in this world now?

Just wait- it will get worse.

But for the believer we have HOPE to sustain us! Our Heavenly Father will see us through as long as we cling to Him and not the world and the things of it for one day it will all be gone- If we cling on to  the things of this world it will all have been for nought ☹️

2 Timothy 3

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
