Oh, boy…

Picture this…

Time: 10:30 a.m.

When: This morning

Making cookies with my 6 year old grandson, 4 year old granddaughter and my 9 year old niece.  Just “simple (but not so simple)” sugar cookies…using Play dough cutters… cooking then frosting and sprinkles of all colors. They are the bakers and decorators so try to envision the beautiful mess. (I should also  mention the big huge box I had been saving for them to play with and much debris spilling outside onto the porch that were present. Adding to the look of an unkempt household.)

They all spent the night last night so I am still in the same clothes I wore and fell on my face in from yesterday (chuckle*chuckle). I had to color the vanilla frosting with jello (orange-red) since I didn’t have any food coloring. Then of course I had to taste it…smeared on my face.

Oh and scraps of paper from snowflake cutting (great witnessing about the Lord and how snowflakes are also a great wonder of our God to children!)

I look out the door and coming up our lane is a pretty and oh so shiny maroon colored car. I am wondering who it could be as the car did not look familiar. Then it hits me as this very pretty blonde haired lady in her beautiful black over coat and clicking heels and her son with a very nice suit and tie walk up-as my 14 year old with Down Syndrome zips past her out the door to play baseball in his favorite barely recognizable Snoopy shirt FULL of holes.

YEP! Jehovah’s Witnesses. UGH! Why do they always come at a time I am not prepared! LOL!  I am wondering how convincing I was to them when I explained that I believe in a literal hell and that they were not going to convince me any different as I stood in the doorway ( I couldn’t even let them in the house as there is STUFF everywhere! Sugar and frosting mostly!). Any thing I knew in the moment before they walked up to my humble abode went out the window 😦

She gave me her name and is from our area wondering if I should have told her to come back…

Praying what the Lord did give to me to share in that moment fell on HEARING ears!

God is good! ❤ ❤ ❤

Happy Day!

Thankful to our all Mighty God that allowed Martin Luther to share His truth!

STICKY POST FOR OCTOBER

Wyclif Giving The Poor Priests His Translation of the Bible by William Frederick Yeames

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed 95 Theses to the cathedral door at Wittenberg, Germany, inviting discussion of the extremely problematic sale of “indulgences” by the Roman Catholic Church.

This October, let’s celebrate the Reformation, a centuries-long happening, whose seeds were sown with Wycliffe in England and Huss in Prague, grew to maturity with Luther, and flowered in Scotland’s Second Reformation.

Let’s rejoice in this work of God, in which men and women returned to our foundation in the Bible, and its clear testimony that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, the Rock, the Son of the Living God!

Matthew 16

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14 So they…

President Lincoln Quote

“I do not boast that God is on my side. I humbly pray that I am on God’s side.”~ President Abraham Lincoln

*2 Chronicles 15:2*

And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

“God is on the side of those who are on His side-who know His heart and mind and do His will-not those who insist on convincing God and others that their way is the right way.”

“Instead of jumping into a situation with the presumption that God is on our side, we need to be certain that we are on His.”

“It is dangerous to mistake our wishes for God’s will.”

GLORY TO GOD!!!

My wife and I are currently studying through the Book of Joshua in the Old Testament. The more believers study the Old Testament, the more we comprehend, through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation are woven throughout the entire text via symbolism/typology.

Take Joshua, who the Lord chose to be Moses’ successor. Moses had disobeyed God by striking the rock at Kadesh to obtain water for the Israelites rather than speaking to the rock as God had commanded (Numbers 20:2-13). Moses had previously struck a rock at Rephidim to obtain water (Exodus 17:1-7), but a rock was not to be struck again. This is a wonderful typology of Jesus, the Rock, dying only once for sins, and, after that, the living waters of salvation being obtained only through appeal to the Savior by faith and prayer. Because of Moses’…

IFB Memories #7: Apocalypse now…and I mean NOW!

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man’ (Matthew 24:36).”

excatholic4christ

After we accepted the Lord in 1983, my wife and I attended an independent fundamentalAAAAAA Baptist (IFB) church for eight years. We were firmly grounded in God’s Word at that church, but the pastor also took the congregation down some strange rabbit holes. I can laugh about it now.

In the early part of 1988, a small booklet was creating quite a stir at our church as well as at thousands of other evangelical and fundamentalist churches. Former NASA engineer, Edgar C. Whisenant, had written “88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988.” Based on information from the Bible and using his own mathematical calculations, Whisenant had determined the Rapture of the church would occur sometime between September 11th and September 13th of 1988. 4.5 million copies of the booklet ended up being distributed.

Like most IFB preachers, our pastor often taught the Rapture – the taking up of Christians bodily into…

Great quote

I am not a political person. I am a Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ. I do believe we should be respectful. This is a great quote from the Chicago Cubs baseball coach:

Joe Maddon: ‘It’s dangerous when folks stop respecting the White House’

It is dangerous.

We live in a small farming town south of Chicago. When we go to town for groceries and things I never notice any tensions. My husband says that is because most of our news comes from New York-California-etc. so of course there is always upheaval oozing from the big cities.

We in mid America (and actually ALOT of people that are not in mid America) just want to have a job to feed our families and are not looking to cause upheaval… AGAIN ALL GLORY TO GOD FOR THAT!!

That quote just struck me and wanted to blog about it.

❤ ❤ ❤

Saying you are saved…

…and going to heaven is sometimes viewed as being prideful. No. God’s Word says that we are saved in *Acts 16:31! Hallelujah! He can not be a liar! It is not in His nature.

How thankful we should be to such a gracious loving forgiving God that gave His only begotten Son to pay our sin debt. A debt we can never repay by our “acts” of kindness and goodness. Any good or kind thing we do is given to us to do by the goodness and kindness of a loving God. No-not from ourselves.

Don’t listen to the lies of the devil that wants to convince us that we are our own “god”. I tried to be my own “god” and failed miserably!!! There is only ONE. There is only One Jesus. That Jesus-the TRUE Jesus-is seated at the right hand of God the Father~RIGHT NOW~until His return at the most PERFECT time~because God is perfect! He is THE only One that makes intercessions to the heavenly Father for us. The true Jesus is not found in a building made of man’s hand and He definitely is not found in a glass of wine or a manmade wafer locked in a little golden box~different Jesus.

I am SO thankful for God’s Holy Spirit that leads us into all truth. AMEN AND AMEN

❤ ❤ ❤

*Acts 16:31*

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

*Mark 16:19*

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

*Romans 8:34*

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

*Acts 17:24*

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Yes…WHY??

2 Chronicles 25:15

Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast though sought after the gods of people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?

WHY DOES MAN CONSISTANTLY DO THIS???

October 21st

Our second oldest son is getting married in October. Being the mom of the groom I have posted the following song that we chose to dance to.

As I listen to the words and sob (hoping I don’t during the actual dance 😉 ) I am reminded that I want this for all of our children. Realizing that the older we get and the older they get ALL we want for them is to KNOW The Lord and for them to give God the GLORY in all they do! That’s it! That is the ONLY ever lasting gift EVER LASTING of life! KNOWING, OBEYING  AND LOVING GOD! HE IS THE BEST! ❤ ❤ ❤

So. when October 21st rolls around-SOON- I am going to ask all of you fellow believer’s to hold our Joe and Kaley up in prayer as they start their new life together AND a prayer for our whole family would be especially nice and MUCH appreciated, too!
