Proverbs 22:6

While I am in the midst of a small “battle” with one of my children the Good Lord reminded me AND comforted me with this:

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I believe this and I will NOT be shaken. I KNOW he has been “trained up”.

Psalm 40

Psalm 40

40 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.

17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

The devil…

convinces another person he would be better off dead,

The following links are of the loss of a Ball State basketball player that hits “close to home”.

Though I did not know Zach personally I went to school with his mom and her twin sister. Zach’s mom had just passed away last August before Zach started college. He was an only child and he and his mom were very close.

A former girl friend of his helped at the boy’s Special Needs Summer Camp this past summer and she was saying how bad she had felt for him as he struggled with the passing of his mom.

I do NOT know the circumstances that lead him to feel this way BUT I know the breathe God had given Zach to live did not need to be cut short. ❤

PLEASE if you are hearing that voice that says “you would be better off dead” that is NOT the Lord our God! No! That is the devil and he IS a liar. Call out to the Lord to give you NEW life~ a life MORE abundant~ He IS goooood like that and YES! He WILL answer a sincere heart. I know I have been there.

Psalm 138:3

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. ❤ ❤ ❤

Prayers for his dad that he may find that peace that surpasses all understanding through Jesus during this most difficult time. I do NOT know where he is with his faith but I pray his faith grows deeper  ❤

The world tells us “worry about tomorrow”.

We wonder why so many people suffer from anxiety. So many “worry about tomorrow”. The younger generation REALLY seems to be suffering from this. There is so much pressure to go to school, get a good job that makes lots of money, have, have, have…

Matthew 6:25-34

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

TRUST IN HIM AND ON HIM~NOT THE WORLD. The world causes problems for us because it does not know Jesus. We are IN the world NOT of it. Jesus has over come all that is in the world. Embrace Him & Trust Him~NOT THE WORLD.

I have to ask myself…

“Am I being a labourer”?

Of course, I like to think I am…but I fall short at times…

It is getting more difficult to “harvest” when so many are doing what they think is “right in their own eyes”.  (Judges 21:25)

People are “ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:7)

We are to “plant” anyway… Not use this scripture as a reasoning~ or an excuse to “throw the towel in”.

Life IS all about The Lord our God…man thinks he either knows more than God (even supposed Christians are turning to other ways adding to what God has said) or that God is a “fable”.

God is NOT the author of confusion. Man is making The Lord our God confusing to the weaker minded.

It will cost and we need to REMEMBER it is worth the cost…

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

**I am reminded of my pitiful garden that sits out back, It was over taken by weeds. But believe it or not amongst those weeds the tomatoes and cucumbers are still growing! I even have some green peppers!**

Lies my parents and teachers used to tell me

“There’s nothing in this booklet about coming to Christ as a helpless sinner and accepting Him as Savior by faith alone. “

The New Saint Joseph First Communion Catechism, (No. 0)
By Bennet Kelley (Catholic priest)
Catholic Book Publishing, 2012 edition (first printing was in 1963), 64 pages

Every month or so, I stroll through our local (c)hristian book store just to see if there’s anything interesting. They have a small Catholic section with prayer cards to saints, medals, rosaries, and statues of Mary and Joseph (they sell a lot of the St. Joseph statues, which are used as good luck amulets in selling houses – see here.) A couple of weeks ago I was walking through the store and they had a display set up of items for sale for children’s first communion ceremony including “The New Saint Joseph First Communion Catechism” booklet.

My grammar school classmates and I had our first confession and first communion in the first grade. Oh, it was a big event! The nuns had us…

“God works to-day as He did of old…”

“God Is Good”

I faced a future all unknown,
No opening could I see,
I heard without the night wind moan,
The ways were dark to me,–
“I cannot face it all alone
O be Thou near to me!”

I had done sums, and sums, and sums,
Inside my aching head.
I’d tried in vain to pierce the glooms
That lay so thick ahead.
But two and two will not make five,
Nor will do when I’m dead.

And then I thought of Him who fed
Five thousand hungry men,
With five small casual loaves of bread,–
Would He were here again!–
Dear God! hast Thou still miracles
For the troubled sons of men?

He has, He will, He worketh still,
In ways most wonderful.
He drew me from the miry clay,
He filled my cup quite full.
And while my heart can speak I’ll tell
His love unspeakable.

“Rest in the Lord!”–I saw it there,
On the tablets of the night.
And, comforted, I dropped my care
Where burdens have no weight.
Then, trustfully, I turned and slept,
And woke, and it was light.

God works to-day as He did of old
For the lightening of men’s woes.
His wonders never can be told,
His goodness no man knows,–
His Love, His Power, His Tenderness,–
Nor shall do till life’s close.

His kindness is so very great,
His greatness is so good.
He looks upon my low estate,
He gives me daily food.
And nothing is too small for Him,–
Yes, truly! God is good.
