“God works to-day as He did of old…”

I faced a future all unknown,
No opening could I see,
I heard without the night wind moan,
The ways were dark to me,–
“I cannot face it all alone
O be Thou near to me!”

I had done sums, and sums, and sums,
Inside my aching head.
I’d tried in vain to pierce the glooms
That lay so thick ahead.
But two and two will not make five,
Nor will do when I’m dead.

And then I thought of Him who fed
Five thousand hungry men,
With five small casual loaves of bread,–
Would He were here again!–
Dear God! hast Thou still miracles
For the troubled sons of men?

He has, He will, He worketh still,
In ways most wonderful.
He drew me from the miry clay,
He filled my cup quite full.
And while my heart can speak I’ll tell
His love unspeakable.

“Rest in the Lord!”–I saw it there,
On the tablets of the night.
And, comforted, I dropped my care
Where burdens have no weight.
Then, trustfully, I turned and slept,
And woke, and it was light.

God works to-day as He did of old
For the lightening of men’s woes.
His wonders never can be told,
His goodness no man knows,–
His Love, His Power, His Tenderness,–
Nor shall do till life’s close.

His kindness is so very great,
His greatness is so good.
He looks upon my low estate,
He gives me daily food.
And nothing is too small for Him,–
Yes, truly! God is good.

Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

The Ministry Years 9:  He had compassion:  theunfetteredpreacher

The first time compassion is in the Bible is the story of Moses birth. All male babies were to be thrown in the river to die.

Moses Mother had a better idea, she built a small ark of safety, placed Moses and it in the river and waited.

Pharaohs daughter found the ark.
And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

Her Compassion, changed the Hebrews history. They were delivered from the bondage of slavery, and brought to the promised land. (Those who believed, Joshua and Caleb).

We can find many times in Scripture, that Jesus had compassion. He acted on it by healing the sick. In this instance:

~ He was out among the people:

Ministry does not always happen in Church, from the pulpit…

John 14 ❤

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

God Careth

One of the sweet old chapters,
After a day like this:
The day brought tears and trouble,
The evening brings no kiss,
Nor rest in the arms I long for—
Rest, and refuge, and home;
Grieved, and lonely, and weary,
Unto the Book I come.
One of the sweet old chapters—
The love that blossoms through
His care of the birds and lilies
Out in the meadow dew.
His evening lies soft around them;
Their faith is simply to be;
Ah! hushed by the tender lesson.
My God, let me rest in Thee.

~Poem By S. P. Bartlett~

We know His love for us as He gave His Only Begotten Son~ Jesus The Christ of Nazareth~ while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8~ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.) He gives us rest. He has done what needs to be done for our salvation. Our work to do according to Jesus is to BELIEVE (John 6:29 ~ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. ). That is it BELEIEVE. Belief leads to obedience. When you obey don’t get caught up in the concerns of the people telling you that you are being a legalist. Obey any way. It IS what HE has told YOU to do. We are to OBEY God rather than men (Acts 5:29~ Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.).

**Rest in Him**:

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

**He takes care of the birds and lilies…**

Matthew 6:26-34

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I use to think I would never know what peace was. I have no one to thank but the Lord for that peace He washed me with that deep, dark miserable day! For cleaning me of the life long struggles. LOVE HIM. REST IN HIM. ENJOY PEACE WITH HIM. BELIEVE ON HIM. OBEY HIM. TRUST HIM. ❤

As we witness so many people that death has “stopped the living tide” are we reaching out to God asking Him to “teach us to number our days”? Are we reaching out to other souls to teach them Psalm 90:12? Are our souls “neglected and undone”? Are we so wrapped up in the fun, our “status” in this world, and busyness of this world that God is or has become a two minute factor in our life?

Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we
may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Oh time, how few thy value weigh,
How few will estimate a day!
Days, months and years are rolling on,
The soul neglected and undone!

In painful cares, or empty joys,
Our life its precious hours destroys:
While death stands watching at our side,
Eager to stop the living tide.

Was it for this, ye mortal race,
Your Maker gave you here a place?
Was it for this his thought design’d
The frame of your immortal mind?

For nobler cares, for joys sublime,
He fashion’d all the sons of time;
Pilgrims on earth, but soon to be
The heirs of immortality.

This season of your being, know,
Is giv’n to you– your seeds to sow;
Wisdom and folly’s differing grain
In future world is bliss or pain.

Then let me every day review,
Idle or busy, search it through;
Then let us every day give heed,
To God, ourselves and time to yield.

~Poem By Dr. Thomas Scott~

My heart is heavy today-to the point of weeping-for those that just won’t take God serious. There has been a pop icon from the 80’s that has passed and some of the comments that are being made on some of the media postings just blow me away. Most have turned their minds over to believing a PERFECT GOD to be a fable…

We have been reading the Old Testament. As we are reading we are seeing how God ~from the VERY beginning~ has laid things out in PERFECT order as only HE can do. HE made the earth a PERFECT specific way as only HE can do. HE gave the Israelites PERFECT specific directions on how sacrificing was to be done for certain transgressions as only HE can do. HE gave them specific PERFECT directions on how HE was to be worshipped as only HE can do.  HE has given PROPHECY in PERFECT order as only HE can do. Prophecies given PERFECTLY by HIM as only HE can do have been fulfilled PERFECTLY and will be fulfilled PERFECTLY and at the PERFECT time that HE has established.

We are also seeing that when things were not done SPECIFICALLY as HE established them to be done, there were consequences…SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. HE was not kidding! HE had/has a right HE owned them and HE owns us~ HIS followers~ now.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a REAL SERIOUS GOD! HE REALLY did give His Only Begotten Son~ Jesus THE Christ of Nazareth (no other Jesus-as there are many imitations out there)~ at THE PERFECT time as only HE can do!

HE was and is serious about the SACRIFICE given for you and I! HE has PERFECTLY given what HE knew we would need to be able to approach  HIS throne. HE gave what HE PERFECTLY knew we would need to make us NEW CREATURES so that we do not have to stay stagnant and keep suffering as an old creature! That is just how PERFECT HE IS!

We need to quit playing in and with this world and do the job HE has given us to do. Sharing the Gospel for the love of God’s truth and how HE sacrificed His Only Begotten Son while we were yet sinners… THAT IS SERIOUS! THAT IS LOVE! If HE has changed you into a new creature~AMEN~ SHARE IT~ NO MATTER WHAT THS WORLD MAY THINK AND HOW MUCH EYE ROLLOING THEY DO ❤ We are adopted children of a PERFECT MIGHTY GOD that saves! We are PRIVLEDGED AND BLESSED beyond measure. We should want that knowledge and blessing for everyone! We can NOT forget the MUCK and MIRE that HE has pulled us out of. We can not forget the BROKEN dilapidated heart we had before HE pieced it PERFECTLY back together. HE did that for HIS glory and honor~ not for us to take credit for~ NO HE DID THAT!  ❤

My heart is heavy today. But God is still God. God is still good. HE is still PERFECT. ❤

Change of times.

Given to King Solomon

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Acts 5:29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Hannah’s Song. Amen!

1 Samuel 2:1-10

And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord‘s, and he hath set the world upon them.

He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
